it’s thanksgiving today in canada. apparently, it’s not such a big deal here like it is in the states. canadians gather with their family, but not necessarily on the actual thanksgiving day. and they may or may not eat turkey. which is prolly why they don’t call it “turkey day.” they’re like, whatevs about the whole thing.
we’re gathering with friends today and NOT eating turkey. and for that, i am thankful. turkey with all those starchy sides is overrated.
to those who observe, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Happy Canadian T-giving to a fellow Canuck abroad. Our thanksgiving is ’spirit’ based, not turkey based.

The Turkey is an outward and visible sign of what a genuine Thanksgiving Day is all about. Besides, the leftovers (Orts) of a proper Turkey last a long time. MmmGood

i think the best part of the turkey is the skin but only if it’s crisp and crackly, not limp and flabby.
all that work to brine and roast a 15-lb turkey isn’t worth it if i’m just gonna have a turkey sandwich the next day. meh.
